Practical information

Cash

Remember to bring plenty of notes and coins with you for the weekend. Entry to the film fair requires payment in cash, as does entry to the auction and Bring-and-Buy stall. Most of the dealers will only accept payment in cash, though one or two will have card readers with them.

Note, however, that The Grand Hotel is a cashless hotel, so you will need a credit or debit card if you want to pay for food and refreshments.

Parking at The Grand Hotel

The Grand Hotel offers free car parking for convention attendees (access to the car park is from Derby Road), but you must register your details at reception to avoid a parking ticket. Alternatively, there is plenty of free on-street parking around the hotel.

Food & Drink

Refreshments, snacks and hot food is available from the bar on the first floor of The Grand Hotel throughout the weekend.

Bring-and-Buy and Auction

The Bring-and-Buy stall will be available throughout the Film Fair on Sunday. Entry costs £1 per film or item of film equipment.

The Auction takes place in the afternoon and again costs £1 per item (films only please for the auction). Items should be submitted via the Bring & Buy stall; entry forms are available throughout the weekend. Please give a true and honest description.

Speaking to the organisers

The convention organising team will be on hand during the weekend. They are a friendly bunch so if you’ve any questions, flag one of them down and they will do their very best to answer. You can also send us a message via the Contact Us page and we will pick it up and get back to you.
