The Blackpool Film Collectors’ Convention takes place in The Grand Hotel, North Promenade, Blackpool, FY1 2JQ. The hotel is situated on the seafront about 1 mile (1.6 kms) north of the town centre and Tower.

Blackpool has good transport links, so whether you plan to drive or use public transport, visiting the Convention is easy.

Getting to Blackpool by car.

Blackpool is easily accessible by car, with a motorway link taking you direct to the resort. Simply take junction 32 of the M6 on to the M55.

There is plenty of free on-street parking around the hotel, or attendees to the Convention can park in the hotel’s car park for free. If using the hotel car park, you must register your details at hotel reception to avoid a parking ticket.

Getting to Blackpool by train.

Blackpool is well-connected to the national railway network. Avanti West Coast run fast and direct services from London & Birmingham to Blackpool and also Glasgow & Edinburgh to Preston, where travellers can change onto Northern services to get to the resort.

There are also direct services to Blackpool North  with other train operators  from Manchester International Airport, Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria, Liverpool Lime Street and York. For more information, visit National Rail.

Getting to Blackpool by bus or coach.

National Express coaches operate to and from Blackpool. They arrive and depart at New Central Coach Station, junction Central Drive / New Bonny Street, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY1 5QE.

Getting around Blackpool by tram.

Blackpool is famous for its trams which offer an easy way to get from the town centre to the Convention. The nearest tram stop to the hotel is Wilton Parade. Plan your journey here.

An extension to the network opened in June 2024. It links Blackpool North railway station to the main tram network meaning visitors arriving by train have an easier journey to the hotel.

Getting to Blackpool by sea.

Blackpool is within easy reach of a number of ferry ports covering crossings from Ireland, Isle of Man and the Netherlands. A full list of ferry crossings is detailed here.

Getting to Blackpool from abroad.

A number of international visitors attend the Convention. The nearest airport to the resort is Manchester (MAN). You could also fly to Liverpool John Lennon (LPL) or East Midlands (EMA).

You will then need to arrange transport from the airport to the hotel. There are good transport links from the airports to Blackpool or you could hire a car and drive.
