In the early 2000s, Pete Travers and other collectors staying at the nearby Collingwood Hotel started an informal Sunday evening Super 8 show in the hotel lounge, watching movies purchased at the convention. We revived the tradition in 2024, calling it The Collingwood Show as a nod to the show’s origins. Taking place on Sunday evening, it’s a relaxed and fitting way to round off the weekend.

In true Collingwood fashion, the idea is to screen prints acquired at Blackpool. So, bring a Super 8 or 16mm purchase (up to 20 minutes) that you have bought at the Film Fair and we’ll do our best to screen it. Phil Slater is chief projectionist, and entry is free of charge. Phil will be projecting with his Xenon super 8 and HID 16mm projectors, and will have a scope lens available, so should be able to screen most formats and aspect ratios.

The Collingwood Show takes place in the Grand Hotel’s Trafalgar Suite cinema, which is where the two Film Fair shows take place.
